I am driven by passion to share orchestral music with all, and by the goal to showcase how orchestras are relevant, now and into the future. There is nothing more rewarding to me than knowing that your efforts could be someone's introduction to orchestral music, and that it just may spark the same love that powers and inspires you.
The WVSO partnered with the Charleston CVB to promote major events in the state through social media initiatives by creating blog content for WVSO performances.

Editor’s note: Charleston native and resident Shiva Shafii traveled to Iran on Dec. 11, 2016, to visit her grandmother, aunts, uncles and cousins. She returned home Jan. 13 and agreed to write a travel story for the Sunday Gazette-Mail. Two weeks later, on Jan. 27, President Donald Trump signed an order temporarily barring people from seven countries including Iran from entering the United States — a move he says is necessary to ensure travelers to the U.S. don’t pose a security risk.
